The 12 bottles of Château Petrus that circled the earth aboard the International Space Station for just over a year returned in January where it’s been undergoing close scrutiny.
In March, the University of Bordeaux’s wine institute, ISVV, hosted a tasting to determine the effects of space travel on wine.
A tasting panel compared the Château Petrus that rode on the International Space Station with that which stayed on terra firma.
Overall, there wasn’t much if any discernible differences and the so-called space wine held up quite well.
Major Tom had one request, however. “Next time, send some cheese.”
